ACLP Forum Terms of Service

Welcome to the ACLP Forum. By accessing or using the ACLP Forum (“the Forum”), you agree to comply with and be bound by these Terms of Service (“TOS”). Please read these terms carefully before participating in the forum. If you do not agree with any part of the TOS, you must not use the Forum.

Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, posting, or otherwise using the Forum, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these TOS, the ACLP Forum Code of Conduct, ACLP’s Professional Code of Conduct, Child Life Code of Ethics, and all applicable laws and regulations.

Account Creation and Security

  • Eligibility: The Forum is intended for child life professionals, students, and supporters who are ACLP members or approved participants.
  • Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to notify ACLP immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security.

Conduct and Use of the Forum

User Responsibilities: You agree to use the Forum only for lawful purposes and in compliance with the ACLP Forum Code of Conduct. You will not:

  • Post any content that is defamatory, abusive, hateful, or discriminatory.
  • Share or solicit content related to certification exam materials, including questions, answers, or determinations from the Child Life Certification Commission (CLCC).
  • Use the forum for advertising, promotion, or commercial solicitation.
  • Post any confidential or proprietary information of others without permission.

Content Ownership: Any content you post remains your property, but by posting, you grant ACLP a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to use, display, and reproduce your content in connection with the operation of the Forum.

Moderation and Enforcement

  • Moderator Authority: ACLP reserves the right to moderate the Forum, which may include editing, moving, or deleting posts that violate the TOS or Code of Conduct.
  • Disciplinary Actions: Violations of these terms may result in warnings, suspension, or termination of your account at ACLP’s sole discretion.
  • Reporting: If you encounter behavior that violates these TOS or the Code of Conduct, please report it to the moderators.

Privacy and Data Collection

  • User Data: By using the Forum, you consent to the collection and use of certain data, such as account information, in accordance with ACLP’s Privacy Policy.
  • Third-Party Links: The Forum may contain links to third-party websites. ACLP is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these external sites.

Intellectual Property

Forum Content: The design, layout, and all content on the Forum, except user posts, are the intellectual property of ACLP or its licensors. You may not copy, distribute, or reproduce any material from the Forum without express permission.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Forum is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. ACLP makes no warranties, expressed or implied, and disclaims any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

Limitation of Liability

In no event will ACLP be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Forum, even if ACLP has been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Changes to Terms

ACLP reserves the right to modify these TOS at any time. Any changes will be effective immediately upon posting. Your continued use of the Forum after modifications indicates your acceptance of the revised terms.

Governing Law

These TOS will be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which ACLP is based, without regard to its conflict of law principles.
